My eldest daughter Erin who is 24, married her high school sweetheart Sam. His dream was to become a Marine and serve his country with honor. She is now at his bedside at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland. Last week he was in a convoy in Iraq and was hit by a road side bomb. He is in a coma and the neurologist don’t expect him to ever recover. My younger daughter (Ali) is 20 and lives with her boyfriend in Reno. She flew to Maryland and met Erin and Sam as they flew in from Germany. The only place in the world Ali wanted to be was with her sister supporting her in any way she could. Ali just told my wife that after spending so much time at the Naval hospital in Maryland she wants to join the military. She was so impressed with the staff and what they are doing for the wounded Marines and Sailors, she wants to do her part to help.
I have been so blessed with the most wonderful daughters I could ever ask for. I am so proud of them.
